Mill Hill Education Group reports that its Chiang Mai school opened Secondary School provision in September 2026. The school’s July promotion report and October Senior Open House corroborate the senior-school pathway; the group article carries an August date despite describing September in the past tense, so the exact first teaching day remains unverified. This is one provision expansion at the existing campus, not a second school or campus. The September 2025 opening is historical context. Ages 3–18 by 2029 remain a phased plan; no net additional capacity is established.

MARKET ACTIVITY

Regional Activity

Material events currently captured across the Growth Monitor.

Regional totals represent tracked material events, not counts of new schools, confirmed openings or additional student places.

RESEARCH NOTES

Evidence & Dataset Notes

Qatar's four-school PPP is four physical developments, not one undifferentiated programme record.

Signed contracts name four operators and four sites planned within two years. The Monitor therefore tracks four school developments, while the programme's 5,000 seats and QAR 1.48bn expenditure remain aggregate figures and are not duplicated across the records.

Operator changes and construction milestones do not automatically create capacity.

Artemis's appointment at HASIS is an operating-model change at an established school. SIS BSD Hiera's topping-off is a delivery milestone; it remains an announced 2027/28 development until pupils are evidenced on campus.

Social-announcement coverage remains partial.

Publicly indexed LinkedIn posts, operator pages, partner announcements and leadership accounts were searched with a rolling overlap. Closed, sign-in-only or unindexed posts remain a coverage gap and are not represented as comprehensive LinkedIn monitoring.

Hong Kong DSS expansion: admissions policy, not new school supply.

The policy initiated in 2025 is being implemented in 2026: 48 existing DSS schools are approved to admit additional self-financing non-local students progressively from September 2026. This is market-access intelligence, not 48 new international schools, campuses or confirmed enrolments. It adds no development records or tracked jurisdiction. Coverage and record verification are separate tests.

This review added a newly announced Osaka school, restored two previously missing qualifying events in Qatar and Vietnam, and corrected a Bahrain record where a stale school website conflicted with closure reporting.

Phased opening dates require separate treatment.

Brighton College Kansai Gaidai has a confirmed September 2028 Prep target, while the Senior phase is planned for September 2029 but may move outside the headline window to September 2030.

Social-announcement coverage remains incomplete.

Publicly indexed operator, school, partner and leadership posts were checked with a rolling overlap; inaccessible or unindexed posts remain a coverage gap and are not presented as comprehensive monitoring.

METHODOLOGY

How the Growth Monitor Works

The Growth Monitor tracks material international-school market activity using identifiable public or directly supplied evidence.

What we track

Qualifying events can include new schools and campuses, campus expansions, acquisitions and portfolio transactions, schools joining or leaving operator networks, rebrands and conversions, operator or management changes, material brand or development partnerships, and other substantive school-development activity.

How events are counted

The Growth Monitor counts material events, not schools. A transaction involving several existing schools may therefore constitute one tracked event. A network addition or rebrand does not automatically represent a new school or additional capacity.

Dates and status

Announcement dates, planned opening dates, actual opening dates and evidence-review dates are separate measures. Status reflects the latest evidenced stage of a tracked event and can change as stronger evidence becomes available.

Evidence

Primary evidence is preferred. Sources can include schools, operators, investors, developers, regulators, government authorities and transaction parties. Secondary reporting may be used where appropriate and should remain identifiable as secondary evidence.

Capacity and enrolment

Published enrolment is not automatically treated as campus capacity. Acquisitions, network additions and rebrands involving existing schools are not treated as new capacity unless additional capacity is separately evidenced.

Coverage and limitations

Some markets undergo structured country-level reviews while others appear as watch layers where a qualifying event is identified. Absence from the Monitor should not be interpreted as evidence that no market activity exists. Project timelines can move and announced developments may not proceed.

Information must be independently verified.

FROM INTELLIGENCE TO EXECUTION

Turn market evidence into an executable route.

K12 Schools International supports investors, operators and education groups with market entry, school origination, transactions and operating governance.
